چکیده
Scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM) was utilized for analysing the bioremediation of Cr(VI) by Citrobacter freundii, a species gram-negative bacteria. The biosorption and bioreduction processes were analysed chemical mapping cells biosorbed at different concentrations Cr(VI). STXM spectromicroscopy images recorded O K-edge Cr L-edge. A thorough analysis absorption features corresponding to oxidation states in cell indicated coexistence Cr(III) higher concentrations. This signifies presence partially reduced addition In addition, signal is intense compared with regions indicating excess Cr. Speciation adsorbed spectral comparison standards. Analysis onset, L3/L2 ratio fine structure concludes that predominantly present as hydroxide or oxyhydroxide. evolution duration process also studied. These time lapse studies depict gradual decrement proceeds. strong evidence interaction material observed. obtained results provide insights into speciation on cells.

Nano-structural Characterization of Post-annealed ZnO Thin Films by X-ray Diffraction and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy
ZnO thin films were deposited on Si(400) substrates by e-beam evaporation technique, and then post-annealed at different annealing temperatures (200-800°C). Dependence of the crystallographic structure, nano-strain, chemical composition and surface physical Morphology of these layers on annealing temperature were studied. The crystallographic structure of films was studied using X-Ray Diffracti...
متن کاملExperimental investigation of beam heating in a soft X-ray scanning transmission X-ray microscope.
A variable temperature sample holder with an operational range of 15 to 200 °C and an accuracy of ±1 °C has been fabricated for scanning transmission X-ray microscopes (STXM). Here we describe the device, and use it to image the polycrystalline morphology of solid stearic acid and palmitic acid at temperatures near their respective melting points as a means of checking for possible sample heati...
متن کاملSoft X-ray microscopy with a cryo scanning transmission X-ray microscope: I. Instrumentation, imaging and spectroscopy.
We have developed a cryo scanning transmission X-ray microscope which uses soft X-rays from the National Synchrotron Light Source. The system is capable of imaging frozen hydrated specimens with a thickness of up to 10 microm at temperatures of around 100 K. We show images and spectra from frozen hydrated eukaryotic cells, and a demonstration that biological specimens do not suffer mass loss or...
متن کاملA soft X-ray beamline for transmission X-ray microscopy at ALBA.
The MISTRAL beamline is one of the seven phase-I beamlines at the ALBA synchrotron light source (Barcelona, Spain) that will be opened to users at the end of 2010. MISTRAL will be devoted to cryotomography in the water window and multi-keV spectral regions for biological applications. The optics design consists of a plane-grating monochromator that has been implemented using variable-line-spaci...
